Visit from Michel Robi, our French teacher from Parole de Vie

Bon jour!! Our French professor came to Galmi for a brief visit last week, and we kept him busy!!! We all sang together in French and Hausa at the church service in town on Sunday morning. This pic shows our special outfits for the occasion. It was good to see him. I'm afraid he might have been disappointed in the deterioration of our French (or at least mine--Deb) as Hausa is mostly spoken here in Galmi. (Many don't even know French). He visited with Alan out to the Tamajeq village, and was able to meet the language helpers that he uses for learning Tamajeq. We enjoyed having him, and it is amazing how fast a year has passed since leaving Parole de Vie!!!

The others in the photo are James and Borody, from Canada. They were at Galmi the same time we first came here. They are good friends, and also did French study with us in Quebec, under Michel's tutelage
