Holidays!!

The Lord provided us with a wonderful holiday at the end of September, beginning of October. We were able to visit the UK and see friends and family, attend the dedication of the son of one of our friends, and take the children to a wild animal park at Woburn Abby. We also gave Uncle Steve a bit of relief from the monotony of being homebound with a broken leg. The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather--yes, in England--indian summer like. We had only one half day of rain during our whole time there, and beautiful sunshine the rest of the time. Grandma Janet spoiled us with wonderful gormet cooking, and two choices of dessert at nearly every meal. (We of course had to be polite and sample both!)

We then flew to France where Deb's parents met us, and we spent 5 wonderful days in a supporter's villa in St. Tropez! What a blessing! The children got reacquainted with both sets of grandparents, and we actually went out on a proper date--although it did include Dad dropping us off and picking us up later. :) The time in France was filled with a few trips to the beach, and some nice French cuisine. Samuel took an unexpected plunge into the deep end of the pool at the villa, but Grandma Coby jumped in to his rescue! I think it was probably more traumatic for Grandma than for Samuel. All in all we had a wonderful time, and decided that we now are more rested and refreshed than we have been in 2 1/2 years!! I guess we needed more of a break than we realized!

That's great that you got to have a refreshing break. I'm sure you needed it! And Happy Birthday to Samuel--I remember being there for the celebration of his first birthday in Union Mills. =) My, how time flies. --Amy Collard
