Chameleon fun!

Chameleons are quite common here in Niger. We have one that likes the lemon and lime trees in our front yard. It is always a goal of Samuel's to try to get it to climb onto a stick, so he can "hold" it. With a little help he was sucessful this time. The chameleon is quick, especially when climbing trees, and is pretty good at hiding itself too! Samuel looks a bit uncertain, but after a good look at him, and watching him change colors a bit in the shade, we let him go into the lemon tree. As a side note, the africans are quite fearful of the chameleons. It might have something to do with their eyes moving independently of one another, but I'm really not 100% sure. In any case, it made Samuel's day! I'm sure he'll get better at catching them in the future.
