Today is our one year anniversary!

Anniversary???? Yes, today, at this approximate time, we were arriving in the Niamey airport, tired, bedraggled, and very thankful to have finally arrived. As we look back at the last year, we can see the Lord's faithfulness, and kindness to us. We arrived with all of our luggage--not just a minor miracle! We were greeted by friends, and whisked away to our temporary home in Niamey. We have since moved to Galmi, and are amazed at how quickly the year has passed. Time has a very peridoxical sense here. On one hand it seems like we have been here for a very long time--much longer than just one year. On the other hand it seems like it was only yesterday that we were stepping off the plane. We have learned and experienced so much in the last year. One thing that we are very thankful for is everyone's health. We left with a little trepidation over Rachel's kidney condition, and concern for urinary tract infections, which could lead to kidney infections. By God's grace, she is infection free! Samuel has fully recovered from his pneumonia of a year ago, and we are all currently healthy. (Though Alan is recovering from a nasty sprained ankle). The children are healthy, happy, and growing. Work is busy, but mostly manageable. We have seen one member of morning devotions come to know the Lord, and Alan is building strong relationships when he goes out to the local Tamajeq village. We thank the Lord for his protection, sustaining, and grace over the last year, and we look forward to what He has in store for us in the coming year! We thank you all for your continued prayers for us, and support. We couldn't be here without you! Praise the Lord with us for taking us through this first year!
